When you create on a daily basis, it’s inevitable to run out of new ideas at some point.
While it’s easy to then fall into some sort of creative rut, there’s one strategy I’ve used over and over again to prevent this from happening. It works every time.
The solution is simple: Change up your work environment.
For me, that usually means making some small (or bigger) adjustments to my desk setup.
Slight changes already provide new sources of inspiration and encourage exploring different ideas.
Alternatively, getting away from your desk and working in your living room or outside can also be enough to fire up your creativity again.
That’s why you see so many people working in coffee shops (or maybe they just want to live that hipster lifestyle 🤫).
It’s even scientifically proven that different work environments can provoke different outcomes.
A 2007 study by Joan Meyers-Levy and Rui Zhu showed that people in rooms with higher ceilings think in a more abstract and creative way compared to those in rooms with lower ceilings.
This is called the "cathedral effect”.
While you definitely don’t have to build a new house with higher ceilings, you can still make use of this phenomenon.
Whether that means going outside or improving your home office – try to switch up your environment every now and then.

📱 Growing on TikTok
I’m trying to get to 100K followers on TikTok by my 18th birthday on October 12. We’re currently at 27K. I’ll talk more about my strategy soon.
🎬 Editing breakdowns
I’ve been sharing a lot of my editing timelines on Instagram and TikTok. They seem to help a lot of you and the videos always perform quite well.
📸 Photography project
I want to take more photos again. Not necessarily to share online but just for myself. However, I already have some ideas about what I could do with those photos. Stay tuned!
